Privacy Policy

EZ Macros turns recipes you find online into clean, macro-tracked recipe cards. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it — in plain language, because you actually deserve to understand it.

The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, nothing more. No ad trackers. No third-party analytics SDKs. We never sell your data.

Who we are

EZ Macros is operated by Samro Studios Inc., a corporation based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Samro Studios Inc. is the controller of your personal information, and its designated privacy officer can be reached at support@ezmacros.app.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address and password (stored as a secure hash), or — if you sign in with Google — the name, email address, profile photo, and language preference Google shares with us.

Profile. The handle, display name, bio, and photo you choose. These are visible to other EZ Macros users.

Your content. The recipes you save — including screenshots, links, and text you submit for extraction — plus your ratings, comments, favorites, and “tried it” marks. Recipes you contribute to the community library, and your ratings and comments, are visible to other users alongside your profile.

Usage data. Basic first-party events (app opened, recipe added, recipe saved), session length, and the approximate country you connect from (derived from your IP address by our hosting provider — we store the country code, never the IP). This lives in our own database, is used only to understand how the product is doing, and is never shared with advertisers — we don’t use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Preferences. Your language and measurement-unit choices.

How we use it

To run the product: extracting recipes you submit, syncing your collection across devices, powering community features (profiles, follows, ratings, activity), sending essential account emails (confirmation, password reset), and improving EZ Macros based on aggregate usage. That’s it — no profiling for ads, no selling, no renting.

The AI part, honestly

When you submit a screenshot, link, or caption, we send that content to AI services to read the recipe out of it: Google’s Gemini models (for text, images, and video) and Supadata (to fetch transcripts of video links). Only the content you submit for extraction is sent — never your email, profile, or anything else. Macro numbers produced this way are estimates, not laboratory measurements.

Where your data lives

Our database, authentication, and file storage run on Supabase; the app is hosted on Vercel. Both are industry-standard providers that may process data on servers outside your province or country, including in the United States. We share data with no one else, except if the law genuinely requires it.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. Delete something (a recipe, a comment) and it’s removed from the product; residual copies in encrypted backups roll off on a schedule.

You can delete your account yourself, in the app: Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your profile, photo, recipes, follows, and activity. One deliberate exception: recipes you contributed to the community library remain available to other users, de-identified — your name is removed and only the recipe and its original source link stay. Your ratings and comments likewise stay without your identity attached. Want those gone too? Email support@ezmacros.app and we’ll remove them.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or withdraw a consent, at any time — email support@ezmacros.app and we’ll act on it promptly. Quebec residents also have the right to complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec; anyone can complain to their local privacy regulator.

Children

EZ Macros isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll say so in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top always tells you when it last moved.
